The Sex work Reporting and Advice Point is a service of Soa Aids Nederland and is offered via  sekswerk.info.

We (Soa Aids Nederland) highly value the protection of your personal data. In this document we explain how the website takes the privacy of its visitors into account.

The Reporting and Advice Point

The Sex work Reporting and Advice Point offers support to sex workers in contacting the appropriate public authority(ies) in the event of problems or complaints. The Reporting and Advice Point  does this by informing, (if desired) guiding and referring.

• To inform

On our website we inform you about the way in which a complaint is properly handled for each authority. We collect existing complaints regulations and procedures, which can be consulted directly via the website.

• To guide

Our employees can personally guide sex workers who have doubts about the nature or status of their complaint and which authority can be contacted.

• To refer

It can sometimes take a while to find where you can go with a problem or complaint. The Reporting and Advice Point will direct you to the correct web page or relevant contact details required to (be able to) address the problem or file a complaint.

Personal assistance

We are happy to help sex workers who are in doubt about the nature or status of their complaint and what to do next. By leaving your e-mail address and/or telephone number with a short description of the problem and/or complaint in our contact form, our employees of the Reporting and Advice Point will contact you as soon as possible.

Despite our instruction not to send us any medical or privacy-sensitive data via the contact form, this can happen. That is why we ask for your explicit permission to store and process the data that you share with us in order to be able to provide the requested personal help and guidance.

Our employees may receive or ask for additional personal information or documentation in order to better assess the nature of the complaint and to provide the requested personal guidance. This information is only accessible to the employees of the Reporting and Advice Point and is only used for the purpose for which it was provided.

We treat all personal information shared with us confidentially and carefully. Our employees follow strict rules of confidentiality.

No advocates

We are not (substantially) involved in handling complaints or resolving the problem, nor does it act as a representative. Also, our employees cannot make a statement about the admissibility of a complaint.

However, we can properly inform sex workers, bring them into contact or refer them to the right aid organizations and interest groups. We mainly ensures that sex workers are well prepared and are at the right ‘Complaint Desk’.

Disclaimer The Complaints Desk

Any referrals and advice provided by our Reporting and Advice Point staff are based on the information shared. The guidance we provide cannot replace the advice of a lawyer, counselor or advocate. The (final) responsibility for raising or not raising the problem or submitting the complaint rests with the sex worker.

Sharing data

We do not share personal data with other authorities or organizations of its own accord. We can only share (personal) data with other aid organizations, interest groups or involved public authorities with the consent of the sex worker.

We ensure that the exchange of data and documents is always safe. We use Zivver for this (link to https://www.zivver.com/nl/).

Data retention

We do not store personal data obtained through the Reporting and Advice Point longer than necessary. We will store the anonymized complaints one month after the personal guidance has ended and this has been communicated with the sex worker. All correspondence and other received documentation will be deleted from the servers and mailbox of Soa Aids Nederland.
We do not register or store IP addresses at the website.

Reporting purposes (anonymous)

In order to address frequently occurring problems and to seek structural solutions in consultation with the relevant public authorities, all problems and complaints are tracked on an aggregated level and reported on. This is done in such a way that complaints can no longer be traced back to an individual person.

Your privacy rights

We naturally respond to people who invoke their privacy rights. For example, you have the right to request access to your data or to have it corrected. You can also request to remove your personal data that we store. And you can always withdraw permission for a specific processing of personal data.

If you would like to execute the above rights, please contact us via the contact details below. If you are not satisfied with the way in which we process your personal data, you can submit a complaint to our Data Protection Officer (DPO) and/or to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP).
