As a sex worker, you have rights and obligations
A basic right of all sex workers: you yourself determine how you have sex and with whom
What rights and obligations you have depends on how you work
You can be self-employed, work under the opting-in scheme or receive a salary

As a sex worker in the Netherlands, you have the right to:

Privacy: information about you that for example a colleague, your doctor, the municipal health service (GGD), an employer, the Tax Authorities, the Chamber of Commerce has about you may not be shared with other people without your permission
A safe and clean workplace

In addition:

You can choose your own doctor
You can determine where (at your doctor’s office or at the municipal health service (GGD) and when (when it suits you) you are tested for STIs
You can start working at age 18 (in some municipalities it is 21)

As a sex worker in the Netherlands, you must:

Pay tax
Be at least 18 or older, but in most cities, the minimum age is 21. Contact your municipality to find out what the minimum age is

In addition, you must have:

A valid residency status
Have an address that is registered with the municipality
Burgerservicenummer or BSN (citizen service number)
Bank account number

There are various ways you can work as a sex worker: self-employed, via opting-in or receiving a salary. Receiving a salary is almost non-existent. The way you work includes different rights and obligations.
